Welcome in Coolangatta. Our Ayurveda College Premise & Health and Beauty Centre at the Gold Coast.
The Venue for course delivery for your course will be the Ayurveda House Coolangatta at Suite 304 / 70 Griffith Street Coolangatta QLD 4225. Right in the middle of the main Shopping Area and less then a minute walk from the beach. Ideally located in a more peaceful area of the Gold Coast and still very close to the M1 Highway, the Airport and the beautiful beaches of Coolangatta and Kirra. Buses are running all day from the bus stop right next to the College building to the heart of the Gold Coast City. It is only a short Bus ride to Robina station from where you can catch a train to Brisbane City which is only a short 80Km from here. As Part of our courses we have Scheduled Excursions (as listed in our time tables). These Excursions will take you to The Ayurveda House in Kyogle NSW 27 Campbell Rd for learning about in house & out patient clients for detox and rejuvenation programs, manufacturing of Ayurvedic oils & medicine as well as cooking classes. We also facilitate an Excursion to Metagenics/ Mediherb to visit their manufacturing, herb storage & preparation facilities. We will also visit a Gold Coast or Brisbane Hospital for an introduction to various medicine departments. The Airport is less then 5 minutes away from the College Venue. The College can arrange pick up from Coolangatta Airport as well as Robina station.
The Weather here is ideal almost all year round, providing a pleasant environment for studies. Burleigh is surrounded by some of Australia’s most pristine beaches as well as stunning National Parks in the Hinterland. Springbrook National Park is only a short drive away and offers a range of nature walks, waterfalls and glow worm caves. Tours to this national Park as well as Mount Warning National Park in Northern NSW are leaving daily from the Gold Coast.
The Gold Coast offers a variety of leisure time activities that range from Theme Parks, Wildlife Sanctuaries, a huge choice in Shopping Facilities, Restaurants and Cafes to Cruises, Fishing, Surfing, Scuba diving and snorkeling.
Banks are open Monday to Friday and some in Surfers Paradise even on Saturday.
Money changing booths and Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) are conveniently located throughout the Gold Coast. The Shopping Centers close to our Premise are open 7 days a week and offer a variety of Shops, cafes, Supermarkets, Fruit & Vegetable stores as well as Newsagents and Real Estate Agents. There is a large number of Share Accommodations available for Students as well as small Studios and Apartments – These are generally managed by Real Estate Agents or an on site Management. Our College staff will be happy to assist you in finding the type of Accommodation you prefer. The Gold Coast Bulletin Paper is also a good source to find accommodation in the area (Weekend edition). This Paper is also very helpful if looking for a part time job (Wednesday & Weekend). A publication “Your Rights and Responsibilities” found at http://transport.qld.gov.au provides you with information about your rights and responsibilities as a tenant.
Australia is a “Left Hand Drive” country and it is recommended to accustom your self to the local driving guidelines and Speed limits before driving/buying a car. Booklets regarding driving rules in Australia are available from the local Road and Transport Authority and are available in several languages for a small fee. It is allowed to drive in Australia for 1 year on an International driver’s license before you would have to apply for an Australian license.
Depending which country you are from your normal driver’s license may be sufficient as long as you carry a translation of your license with you (the RTA will advice you which translation services they accept).
The closest Post Office is located a few meters from our premise and there are other offices in regular distances around the Gold Coast. Most Post Offices open Monday to Friday. You are welcome to use the Ayurveda College address for your mail until you have a mailing address.
Our College has Ayurveda Health Care Practitioners working on the premises 5 to 6 days a week and can assist you with your health concerns and if necessary refer you to a doctor, health care practitioner or hospital, which is most suited to your needs at the time. We have our own Ayurvedic Pharmacy and Clinic on Campus, where we make treatments and consultations available to our students at a hugely discounted price. Campus facilities include fully equipped Ayurvedic clinics, air-conditioned classrooms, dispensary, reference library with internet access, printing and photocopying. It is mandatory that you have overseas health cover that covers you for your stay in Australia. The College will be able to assist you with this if you haven’t arranged health cover in your home country.
Australia is a very safe and friendly country with a great multicultural diversity. For information on Churches, Libraries, Places of Interest, Multicultural festivals & Events in the area please check with our information desk or the local tourist information. The Gold Coast offers a huge range of cultural events throughout the year. The Gold Coast city Council publishes a Community Services Guide and Events Calendar along with telephone contacts for its various departments.
